Welcome to the Take a Nature Break blog!

The natural world is at the heart of what we do here and we hope that you’ll join us in taking a nature break, wherever and whenever you can! Engaging with nature can build up our resilience to stress, improve sleep and reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression. From sparing seconds, to hitting the recommended ten to thirty minutes per day, imagine what being in nature could do for you.

Our video and activity series has been put together to inspire you and your family to notice the natural world on your doorstep and to experience the benefits that being in nature has to offer. Increasing our perception of nature as we go about our busy lives will influence our children’s relationship with the natural world, too. Consistent engagement with nature, even in the simplest of ways, is linked with positive mental wellbeing. Additionally, those that feel a connection with nature are more likely to make choices that benefit our planet.

Make sure to check back regularly as we post throughout the seasons. Rain or shine, countryside or metropolis, it starts with a thought. Share your photos and tell us which activities you’re enjoying using the comments section below each post and make sure to use #TANB on your socials (set them to ‘public’ so we can see them, too)!

When you Take a Nature Break, remember to follow the countryside code and respect people’s private property. Always let someone know where you’re going and when to expect you back, especially if you’re exploring alone.

I'm so excited to share the first Nature Break ideas with you soon!

We want to know if our project has been useful, so interactions with the blog content may be used to help evaluate the project.
